Ho-hum,

We are witnessing the further demoralization of America with the Leading Royalty split amongst the world Spending our Children's money in mad fashion. MO in spain spending 75K a day. BO choppering 6 miles to give a speech on Energy conservation? Then his "Display" of b-ball skill with NBA in front of Wounded warriors.(And he calls certain Music people 'an ass'? Hmmm? )

Piss on 'em. I am going ahead with my plans for the gulch and they aren't going to be able to stop me. They may send their thugs later to 'collect' what I am refusing to give, and they may kill me. SO WHAT.

Like Mayberry said "If I live only five more minutes as a Free man, they will be the best five minutes of my life! I do not fear death, because it surely can't be worse than life under tyranny."

I spent most of yesterday looking over the Rock pile that represents most of what makes up the couple of acres that I will be building. I chose this location for its remoteness. The other piece is much better suited to building and what not but is within 30 yards of a road and railroad. (not a major line, CSX coal run but think about how covered with thugs that will become, when Coal is a MAJOR Commodity to keep the lights on and requires armed protection.) Yes, I said rock pile. If you are familiar with the Smoky Mountains you may have some idea what I am talking about. Yes you can build on it. Yes, you can farm in it(kinda) One great advantage is the Fresh Water springs the are littered about the area. I have 2 good springs and one seep within the bounds of my area. The seep can be worked for a better flow and I plan on keeping Guineas in that area. There is a good sandy spot there that they may prefer for laying and that will be just fine by me(much better eggs than 'store bought')
The Rocks don't deter me, in fact, I am pleased with the quantity. With some power equipment I can move them around for 'fashionable defense'. In the smaller ones, they will be used for walls and what not in building my workshop(more specifically, the foundation and surround for my forge/smelter. Lined with Refractory cement and brick, I should be able to achieve 1800-2200 degrees, not Iron melting but good enough for Al, Tin, and blacksmithing (even forge welds) One other advantage of this area is the convenience of cheap coal. I won't heat my house with it but I can run it in my forge. Maybe able to get even hotter than above.(EPA BE DAMNED!)

The only downside of the 'rocks' is digging for the basement. Fortunately, I have access to certain tools for that if we uncover something bigger than a 55 gal drum. I had thought about going without a basement but the added storage possibilities are too enticing. Much easier to keep Mason jars and what not in places like basements.

So you may be wondering why the rambling? LOL I was just spouting at the mouth(fingertips?) while waiting for my phone to finish sending this pic.

This is the view from what will be my back porch. No great expanses or really great sunsets, but I rather like the way the light cuts through the trees. At the bottom of it you can see the rocks I was talking about. The closest one is about the size of a small motorcycle. The seep I was talking about it roughly 15 yards down the hill from this area. The two springs are off to the right of here and about 30 yards apart. One is currently delivering about 2 gallons a minute the other is slightly less than that. Considering we haven't had rain in about a week, that is significant. I plan on tapping into one of them for feeding a cistern. Even in long dry spells I should be ok. Altitude is 1300ft above sea level so I do have to worry about Fleas and Ticks on the animals and myself (unlike in Denver or 29 Palms Ca. Altitude does wonders on Fleas)

Further updates will be forthcoming as I break ground. Digging both foundation and Septic system first. (next weekend is chainsaw time to clear those areas. First firewood for the house. Should be seasoned well by the time I need it)

My nickels worth.

I had a post ready to go on Monday until I read Mayberry's post about going Galt.

I scrapped what I had since it was a bit of my normal crap anyway. His post really gave me a bit to think about.
It seems to me that the solution is as old as the communes of the mid-sixties, early seventies. Only much more complex. To set aside a section of country (a reservation if you will, despite the negative connotations that presents) for those uf us that only wish to be 'Left Alone' would do wonders to a percentage of the population that is ready to start shooting now.

This raises many thoughts of 'What if" for me.
And gives some ammunition against those that wish further trepidations upon the population.

It all boils down to "What did people do before XXXXXXXX?(insert your favorite welfare program in the X's.)

Lets look at the nuts and bolts of society PRE-SOCIALISM. Considering that our current state of affairs began back in the early part of the last century, we have to assume that there were protocols in place to assimilate those in dire straits. What were those protocols?(obviously they weren't Federally mandated either)

Public assistance/Welfare: This is the simplest. People that fell on hard times would lean on Family, Friends, the Church, and other Independent social institutions that were set up to help those that couldn't help themselves. The Community chest of a sort.

Retirement/Social Security: This is the one that really gets people thinking. What did people do for retirement towards the end of their lives? The biggest thought here is that many didn't live to the ripe old age of 65 on a regular basis. Life was hard then. And yet, there were those that retired from constant working. The family is the key here. Large families were commonplace. The Grandparents were the last line of defense in taking care of the younger generation. Typically, the grandparents were the founders of a homestead, built it up to its working status, their children would continue in their footsteps and the grandchildren would be 'schooled' by the 'retirees' in their golden years. This isn't a hard and fast fact but was common enough that a brief look at the way our founders lived would bear many instances of just such an arrangement.

Public Education(read Socialist indoctrination): What public education? Most small towns(villages) would have a one room school house that took up where those families that couldn't afford the time left off. Most children were taught the rudiments(the Trivium) up to a certain age and that was sufficient for the average person to get along in life. (look at a "Primer" text from Pre-1913. Can you do half of the exercise's in it. I can and I was struggling on some of them. This was a 4th grade book and the math was the equivalent of senior H.S. education when I was in school. Compare to what the texts are like NOW.) Higher education was for those that showed promise, desire, willingness and drive to further learn the Quadrivium. Further education may have even been done during an Apprenticeship. Current Progressive Reform(a centuries worth of social reform, lets quit beating around the bush) of forced education until adulthood, child labor laws, and a minimum wage set up, have all lead to KILLING that particular training tool. The current minimum wage law has it so that educated persons have a hard time getting a job without experience due to the costs of employing them. Having seen what a business pays for the privilege of keeping an employee; I understand why many small businesses are passing over H.S. educated Graduates for College Grads(that and the actual education standards of both)(PS: Abe Lincoln, homeschooled. Albert Einstein: mostly homeschooled. Edison: Homeschooled. etc etc etc)

There are more that I could bring up but those three really show what is wrong with where we are. There are many other aspects that screw us over but those push us to the slippery slope of not pulling back to the standards of what made this country "the shining City on the hill".

Going Galt isn't going to be a reinvention of a society so much as a Renaissance of one. We don't need to reinvent the wheel, we only need to step back on a societal level to what worked. We need to teach the kids what really worked and show them how to learn for themselves how to make it better. The tech we have now isn't a stumbling block in our way if we know how to incorporate it into " the old ways". Doing so would be far easier than some may think.

Heinlein wrote about a place called Coventry in a few of his books. In those books, it was a place of Exile. In some ways, we that would like to go Galt, are looking for Coventry. We don't fit in todays society. I freely admit I don't. I see the damage of 100 years of elected retardation and I don't like the effects it has had upon those around me. I see levels of apathy towards where we are headed (and in some ways that is the cobalt rod in this reactor. The one that keeps us from completely blowing the core) and how the consensus is "Well, what can one person do to change it?"

One person can't do much of anything. Not when it comes to the bigger picture. That is where our depression lies. But a group, persistent enough, can make a huge difference. Look at the founding of this country and see what a handful of "We must hang together or we will surely hang separately"'s did. They may have fudged the paperwork (and there is some debate on both sides of the fence about that. Reference Boston T Parties book on the illusions of liberty.)but you can't deny that they pulled together a lot of people to defeat the "superpower" of the time.

I am torn between wanting Galt's Gulch and wanting out right Revolution. I can't deny that I only want to be left alone, that I no longer want to support a gaggle of leeches through Forced taxation, that I no longer want to see children subjected to the Retardation of the public school system, etc, etc, etc. I am thoroughly frustrated with our society as it has morphed into, in comparison to what it SHOULD be.

But I don't have any answers to the questions Mayberry put forth.

What I do know is that I have the knowledge and skills to keep the lights on when the grids go down. I know that I can keep food on the table when monetary means are back to the barter level without Scrip or Fiat toilet paper. I know that I can 'generate' alternative fuels to keep the wheels turning when that time comes. I know that I can educate my children in higher levels of learning if need be(and it would be needed) The knowledge is in my head and on my bookshelves: they can't take whats in my head.

But I am one person. There are only 24 hours in a day and the level of work to maintain those needs would need to be spread out among a village, town or some other form of community. One is an island, two are a group, three or more is a committee. (I could give that thought line a serious run for chaos if given half a chance. Think I will stop there for now.)

I guess until some such time as when it all comes apart or we come together, I will keep on "keeping on", trying to establish my own personal Gulch, and watch the sunsets with a cold one when the fermenter is done bubbling. Feel free to contact me if you have some enlightenment on this subject. I am sure that Mayberry will have more coming in the next few days.( Have fun with Starving Mayb. Tom is a great writer for his subject. His reading list is extensive but well worth it.)

Let the Adventure begin.

Started working on 'Renovating' the Van today. Prepping walls and ceiling for Insulation. I don't want any rust starting up on the inside of the walls after I put this insulation in so I am cleaning up any Scratches and stuff and painting with rust-o-leum. With the weather being so cold I am going to give that a day or two to cure, then start on the insulation. I am going to be using that board style polyurethane stuff with a Silvered backing on it.
I found a pretty good site for "vandwellers" and it has a 'store' that has better prices than I am finding elsewhere. Still I do shop around as I have to stretch every dime as far as possible. My key areas that I am working on are basics like cooking and power for comfort/communications. The cooking I have a solution for that is fairly inexpensive and functional. Heating will be either propane or something similar. With the size of the van and good insulation it shouldn't take too much to keep comfortable. I am worried about ventilation but that 'store' has a solution there too. I only have to make some cuts for it that are going to have to be sealed up but that's what this project is about. My comfort for the road, and not doing it twice.

I won't be doing the solar thing just yet(unless I hit the lottery or some other wild miracle LOL) but I will be making 'reserve power' in the shape of Two Optima blue tops tagged into the vehicle electrics separated by a disconnect so I am not draining the Vans battery while idle. There will also be an "Edison" hookup for a charger that I am adding inline when House current will be available to me. (note: I always crack up when I here house current referred to as Edison current. He wanted to make things all DC and it was Tesla that made AC what it is today. Still, trends continue, most times without reason.)

One aspect that I am trying to maintain is 'stealth'. I want to keep that Contractor/Cargo van look as much as possible. I figure that I will be bothered less if I look like a work truck. I am even thinking about bolting a ladder to the rack for 'camouflage'. Granted I am setting up the rear under the bunk with Tool storage and the battery compartment, so its not a stretch to call it a work truck. I am going to have to consider how to store firearms though. I don't want them to be obvious, but I don't want to leave them behind either. I am down to three at this time. I have been pairing down on everything and that leaves me with my SKS, the PSL and one handgun. Obviously the Handgun will be more accessible than the rifles on a daily basis. Still, how to hide them in the open so to speak.

OK, its late, I am tired, and I am rambling. Will post more later and have pictures to boot. Probably after Christmas. So till then, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with those you care the most about. If you have lost someone in your life, think of them in fondness and warmth and know they would do the same for you. God bless.

Job: A Comedy of Justice

A comedy of Justice or just some higher power showing a sense of humor?(and that was the premise of the book)

I find it funny that my ex handed me that particular book when we first met as my 'introduction' to Heinlein. I became a voracious fan of him quite quickly even though this was one of my least favorite books by him.

Maybe that's because it hits too close to home in some ways. I am not whining here, but there comes a point where one only wants peace of mind. You can only handle disaster after disaster for so long before your soul starts to show scar tissue.

I guess thats why I want to build my house away from all of the drama of life and people and settle in. Nothing big, simple things to maintain, a small garden capable of supporting one or two people with enough livestock to accomplish the same. A small workshop for my creative side and somewhere to go shooting to keep my hand in the art of the gun.(never know when some others may want to take your peace away)

I won't go into details but I have found that alone, I have comfort. When I start interacting with others on a daily basis is when things start to get uncomfortable. Maybe I am the loner that I was labeled as in School. I know that I tend to work best when left to my own efforts. I can work as a team member but I have always been more effective solo than in a team effort. Granted there are times where everyone needs to interact as a group and I am capable of that; I just prefer to not have to deal with Politics and diplomacy in that situation.

My Ex gave me my wings by forcing my hand last year. I haven't used them yet and for that I am at fault. Its time to fly again.

More forthcoming as I figure out how to stretch these damned wings out and try to get some wind under them.

Addendum: I don't remember who this quote is from yet it sums up the above quite well.

The more I learn about people the more I like my dog.

An argument AGAINST universal Healthcare.

I recieved the call last night around 2 A.M.

" This had better be good." (me)
" How about I am vomiting blood,, Good enough?" (daughter)
" On my way" (me) Click.

I get there, little argument about going to the E.R. but she concedes and leaves, leaving me to sit the Dog and Granbehbie.

She doesn't have insurance so she went the University Hospital E.R. here locally.

Bill out the door. $0 $8 parking.

They couldn't find anything though. Granted she has ulcers and I personally think one flared up on her but I am not a doctor. Still for not being insured, she was covered.

And The FEDGOV wants to take over even more control of a system that really needs to be less controlled. I have heard the arguments of lower costs, but that fails when you show that the reason the costs are so high is because of Federal mandates on services. The reason there are drugs available overseas for Cancer that aren't available here is because of Federal Mandate( the FDA specifically) There are more arguments that can go around but the fact is, THE SYSTEM WORKS even with all of the crap that they throw at it. NOW they are trying to take the private sector out of the equation all together(and they will see a sharp decline in Doctors in the process) leaving people like my daughter, my dad, heck, myself; Screwed.

They say that everyone has a line in the sand. This one is mine. A couple of reasons for that. There is a stipulation in the bill for an ID system. This isn't the National ID that has been proposed in the past but its so close as to be its twin. There are many aspects of that, that leave me speechless. The most important being the image of SS asking "Papers, please" in the old war films. Not really keen on that becoming possible here(though we really aren't that far from it with our Drivers License's) The other is the proposal that they can find me 'unfit' for gun ownership through a board of "elected officials". These people won't be doctors and WILL work for the Government. Think they won't have a bias against people that are opinionated AND armed?

There are other proposals coming down the pike like Cap and Trade, Illegal immigrant Amnesty, and the Value Added Tax. Every single one of these proposals cedes a little more state power to the FedGov. Each one opens up even more loopholes allowing more trepidations on "We the People". Each one also calls for more taxes from those that actually pay taxes, to be distributed to those 'in need'. Not sure about where you live but here where I live, those in need aren't seeing it and the ones that are haven't a clue how to use it properly. I don't know how many times a week a see some welfare case buying junk food at the convenience store on the food stamp program card. I don't know how many of them have video consoles in their houses but I know of more than a few that have Video consoles in their SUV's.(gas guzzling monsters with High dollar rims. And these people are on WELFARE????)

I guess I am trying to alliterate that there is a growing rift in this country.(like this isn't touched upon daily by the Conservative broadcasters) The rift isn't about the Have's and Have-not's anymore. Its about the Producers and the Users. Go ahead progressives: Tax the hell out of the Producers. If they have the means they will leave for better climes elsewhere in the world(like most of our manufacturing has already) If not, they will give up eventually and either go Galt, or go on the dole. I am already making my plans to go Galt. I can't swallow my pride enough to 'give up'.

No matter what, if the Progressives continue making headway, there will be trouble in this country. When and where, I haven't a clue. Sadly though its not a question of "IF" anymore. They will cross a line and someone will be there to push back. When that happens things will escalate VERY quickly.

OK I am done ranting for the night. GO VOTE TOMORROW if there are elections in your state.

News

Phone interview today. Hope to hear something a little more solid soon.

Could use something steady for once. Some say the economy is growing, I think its illusory numbers generated by Economists trying to keep the 'good feelings' afloat nationwide. People know we are in trouble but in denial. The numbers can't be denied when you really look at the big picture. Anyone with experience balancing a checkbook should know that we are bleeding cash faster than we are generating it. Its hard to generate anything when 90% of our economy is based on service industries and not manufacturing. Even 'Intelligent Properties' like Programs, Operating systems, etc are enough IF we have enough of them. Biggest problem is we outsourced so many of these things in the last 10 years we would have a hard time bringing them back to our shores.

Back to the original point of this post. Job hunt. Have been sending out 3-4 resumes a day for the last 4 months and today is only the second call I have received. Least to say I am not holding my breath on this one but it did give me hope. I like being a carpenter but the work really isn't steady enough to count on. One of the points of trying to move and build is to become self sufficient. I have enough skills to manufacture items given a workshop and enough internet savvy to generate a small income from that. I would have the property to raise a garden, areas for hunting in the right season, and family around to keep me company. If I could get my daughter to face reality and move with me I could also help raise the Granbehbie and educate her the way the schools aren't.(she would be the Tomboy, truckdriving wrench wielding, gunshooting envy of all the boys. Just gotta get by Grandpa and Mom. LOL)
Maybe I am pipe dreaming here. Its enough to help me hold out a little longer in a town I despise though. I know My chances of getting ahead are here first and foremost, FOR NOW. Once I hit a point though I will be making that move faster than you can scare a cat. I only fear getting caught in this town when things start getting rough. Getting out could be hairy at that point.

An Exercise in Futility.

Arguing with Liberals is like herding cats, counting sandgrains, or teaching pigs to sing. Frustrating is only the icing on that cake.

I am refering to a fisk that I did today on IrateNation. 'Liberal and Proud of it" went off the handle again last night and I spent half of the day while working thinking about it. When I came home I ripped into his post and while not scathing I did get a little hostile by my standards. I really shouldn't let stupidity get to me the way it does. Maybe its the fact that I see so many that are so willing to give their lives to the Nanny State without a whimper. So many potentially good people being swallowed up in this mess and not one TRIED to make it on their own principles.

I see the stories of Ayn Rand coming to life in front of my eyes. While we aren't so bad as George Orwell predicted I think that is more a matter of self-preventing prophecy. Tell it so horrible that no one wants to even toe that pathway. Still in many ways we aren't that far from that future if people continue ignoring the basic Premises of Freedom and Liberty. I expand upon these things as much as possible to as many will give me an ear(to the point of my daughter being sick of hearing it some days.)(though she has made poppa proud by quoting me on occasion :-D) To say the least, in a liberal town, I have few friends. No regrets about it as I don't need friends like that when the SHTF. Far too many are going to be clamoring for escape from the mess they voted for. Elections have consequences as they say. We are starting to see the cumulative effects of several elections coming to fruition.

Work seems to be coming back on line some, will know more here in the next day or two. If Not then I will be searching starting monday which means fewer posts unless I get a Support position where I will be online. Haven't been to many of those posting though, will see.

Addendum: Seems I am not the only one. http://www.thepriceofliberty.org/09/10/26/commentary.html

Going 4X4 Part 1.3

Well after a 5 hour endeavor with Dan and lots of greasy fingers and cursing(I think that the cars like verbal abuse LOL) I now have the Tahoe axles in place. I still have some detail stuff to take care of, like hooking up the P-brake lines and some wiring that needs repaired but currently the S-10 is up and running and I have engaged the 4X4 package to insure that things are working properly.

Next up is either an RV or Tow Camper.

Looking but I don't have the funds yet so I don't see that happening anytime soon. My boss is running low on funds and hours are getting cut.(yet one more way the 'stimulus' is stimulating me.) I am the only person getting hours at this moment due to my transportation status and the fact that I provide my own tools. ON THAT NOTE: I am noting parallels to Ayn Rands book "Atlas shrugged". Many people in the service industry just not caring that much anymore. Attitudes and pessimism abound. People aren't giving like they would if the returns were better. There isn't any one thing I can really put my finger on to illustrate this but I feel it daily. Every once in awhile you run across a shining star that hasn't been infected with the poison yet and your day is lit up for a short time. Yet for the most part there is a growing illness in this country. Like guys expecting work but not investing in the tools to do the job. Or working at such a pace to draw out the work indefinitely instead of doing a bangup job and getting kudos for it towards the next piece of work. Even I have noted that this poison is affecting me in some ways. I have the hardest time working with anyone from this area anymore. My boss has gone out of his way to give me solo projects because I hammer them out quick with minimal fuss(usually over materials but thats another story.) and he knows that the work is done right. I have been bouncing around to his many different properties doing maintenance stuff and security improvements because he knows that I won't dicker with the tenants and the job is done when I am packing up my tools, not dragged out to the next day. In some ways this is a positive since I know that he will keep coming back to me with work. In others though it hurts me since I am getting things done so timely that I am not getting a full week out of what he has. I guess its better to have some work and struggle than no work and begging.

Can't wait to get that trailer and get out of this dying town.

Itching to get to a range too. It has been a few weeks since I shot something.

A turning point of sorts.

I wrapped up my Lead Abatement training today. One thing I can honestly say having been through the class and having a patriots view on things.
Leviathan really has her hooks in so many different aspects of our life I feel that THIS video isn't off target at all.

We were basicly indoctrinated in how the Federal Government expects us to take care of dealing with buildings that have Lead based paint and how to take care of them to bring them under dangerous levels. Granted this is a problem that in many instances truly needs cleaned up since lead can build in a persons system and do catastrophic damage to Fetus' and developing children.
The prices for doing this abatement are enormous though. In many instances far more than the dwelling in question is worth. There are ways to take care of the problem that are safer, cheaper, and more effective out there but the EPA, OSHA, and HUD all have a say in how this is to be dealt with. The requirements really raise the costs to a point where burning the house down is probably the way to go. There will be lead fumes for one evening but the long term financial side of it would dictate that the money spent on abatement would make one hella down payment on a new structure.

One other aspect of this class really brought to light how far down the tubes this country has fallen. One person(for lack of a better word he will now be called "leech") really managed to get me riled. The whole time that we were going through this class he was trying to figure out how to soak the system for money not earned. Leech discovered that a person receiving more than a certain amount of lead will be "removed" at orders from a medical doctor and that the company has to pay that persons salary as long as his lead/blood levels remain above a certain point. He also found out that if a person working in lead removal work site has kids and the kids are found to have elevated lead/blood levels that the company has to provide anything that these children may need due to the lead poisoning FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.
Leech was ecstatic! He couldn't let it go for the four days we were in class. He spent the entire time trying to figure out how to sacrifice his kids to get further along on the taxpayers and the corporations. Of course he wasn't worried about their true welfare. That is for us the taxpayer to deal with: that's why they call it welfare right?
Least to say every time this LEECH opened his gullet I resisted putting a fist down it. Luckily I can't see this guy passing the licensing test since he was struggling so hard on the course test today. For his kids sake I hope he fails miserably in his endeavors to sacrifice them for his good. Yet these are the people that have voted in our current circus performers. These are the same people that think we NEED a nationalized banking system, nationalized car manufacturers, Universal health care(it really only needs to have some new regs( get rid of the HMO's), not government control. Fine me for not having insurance will you? I think not). These are the same people that haven't worked a day in their lives and yet drive better cars than those that are struggling to make ends meet and work 40+ hours a week.

I can only hope that those in power fail miserably at their agendas. If they don't we will be in the same shape that the USSR was in during the 1960's and early 70's. Those people that voted for this will be realizing that there is something worse than being poor. Much worse.

In the meantime of this course, I managed to pencil together a floor plan of the house that I wish to build. I have managed to put together a list of materials for it (at least to the point of move in and I will work on the details then. IE paint color of walls and other stuff.) With the septic system and new appliances I have a tentative estimate for $12000.00 apx. This actually gives me some cushion to boot. This is also me doing the lions share of the work (along with family that are in the area but I am not counting on them. I know that I can but I want to plan as if they were only 'sometimes' available. Plan for the worst and hope for the best, right?) I really want to make this move and get near people that understand TANSTAAFL even if they don't know the term. There is most definitely a terminal case of intestinal parasites living on the bowels of the city I currently reside in.

I only hope that this doesn't represent my future.

THIS had me going a bit today.

On Irate Nation, Eagle posted this letter
Letter From A Dodge Dealer
Letter to the editor
5-20-9

My name is George C. Joseph. I am the sole owner of Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu, a family owned and operated business in Melbourne, Florida.

My family bought and paid for this automobile franchise 35 years ago in 1974. I am the second generation to manage this business.

We currently employ 50+ people and before the economic slowdown we employed over 70 local people. We are active in the community and the local chamber of commerce. We deal with several dozen local vendors on a day to day basis and many more during a month. All depend on our business for part of their livelihood. We are financially strong with great respect in the market place and community. We have strong local presence and stability.

I work every day the store is open, nine to ten hours a day. I know most of our customers and all our employees. Sunshine Dodge is my life.

On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my family on June 9, 2009 without compensation and given to another dealer at no cost to them. My new vehicle inventory consists of 125 vehicles with a financed balance of 3 million dollars. This inventory becomes impossible to sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009.

Without the Dodge franchise we can no longer sell a new Dodge as "new," nor will we be able to do any warranty service work.

Additionally, my Dodge parts inventory, (approximately $300,000.) is virtually worthless without the ability to perform warranty service.

There is no offer from Chrysler to buy back the vehicles or parts inventory.

Our facility was recently totally renovated at Chrysler's insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank.

HOW IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN THIS HAPPEN? THIS IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS NOT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY.

This is beyond imagination! My business is being stolen from me through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. We did NOTHING wrong.

This atrocity will most likely force my family into bankruptcy. This will also cause our 50+ employees to be unemployed. How will they provide for their families? This is a total economic disaster.

HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN IN A FREE MARKET ECONOMY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?

I beseech your help, and look forward to your reply. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Here is my response.
I think Mr. G Joseph just got his wake up call.

I am not being facetious either. Sad to see this crap pouring from the hill like it is. I am reminded of an abscess on a cat: it grows and grows till it bursts; the garbage that comes out is instant death or really slow lingering death to any small creature that comes in contact with it.(size determines time) This is a problem that has been coming for sometime now: the abscess is leaking. I would have to say it started LONG before GWB, Clinton, Bush1 Heck even before Reagan. Reagan was the Cobalt rod in the core to keep things from going critical but his time was too short lived.(and unfortunately gave birth to the Brady bunch, thanks Hinckley you wack job)

My doctor has a piece of advice he gives on occasion. 'Let it ride out.' You are going to be sicker than a dog for awhile and weak as a kitten for sometime thereafter but in the end you are STRONGER for it.

We needed to do that when the economy started tanking last year. I knew we were in trouble when there was suddenly an extra $600 in my account last year. Stimulus my A$$. 93% of Americans used that money to pay bills. Nothing to encourage production, nothing to encourage growth. DEBT.
Says something about whats really going on eh?

Currently we are past the 50% mark. Just over half of the people in the US have a job working for the .GOV. The other half are interspersed in Private sector, Entreprenuers, manufacturing, contstruction, etc. The real question arises then. What do we produce that the rest of the world would want to purchase?(key word here is 'want')

For the last few decades it was our money. Not our cars, technologies, or any other thing that we still produce something of.(sorry Apple and Microsoft. Operating systems don't count as they are considered Intellectual properties not materials.) MONEY.

Now we are lending to ourselves to pay off our debt. How is a house to stand when the foundation DOESN'T EXIST?
I know how. The people. Stop basing the economy on Fiat paper and base it on the people. In order to do that then the people are currency to be bought and sold as needed.

How ya like them apples?

I don't.

Wake up call.
I realize that some of my 'rant' is not backed by any fact finding. I could write a treatise on this with all of the links that I have collected since things started going south. I choose not to at this point on that (and this site) since we are all pretty much just giving vent to pressures that could drive someone insane if contained. There are better writers out there that are paid to do this and they do quite well at it. I will just rant.

Repost from Irate Nation.

this is in response to "war is Hell" from American Thinker.

We cannot stop a Holocaust without inflicting pain. We cannot end the Gulag without hurting people. We cannot free slaves without the horror of civil war. We can be silent, passive, and helpless in the face of evil, and, perhaps, survive. But we cannot stop evil without fighting evil, and that battle cannot be conducted without hurting people.

And that's the truth that has hindered so many in this endeavor to stop the Infringements upon the US population. No one that has any conservatism values wants to hurt another human being, not intentionally anyway.

Sadly we are headed to a place where many will be hurt, maimed, and or killed. In masses that make many of us hesitant even when justified. We still hold our principles of right and wrong above our own heads. At some point our values will be outweighed by need to "fix" the problem. Then we will be absolved of any guilt in our endeavors.

The current PTB don't seem to have the same principles. They operate as if above the law. Maybe they are above the Law of the Land but they will eventually find out that the law of Man still applies to them quite well. When that day comes I hope to be still breathing as I REALLY want to see the looks on their faces when they realize that they can bleed for their crimes.

I would rather strife in my time that my children can live in peace. I think that was Samuel Adams that said that but it fits very nicely with my thoughts today. I posted to my blog today due to the feelings that I am having. They were spurred on by report of a man that was arrested and detained while they did checks to see if he was on the watch lists. The reason for this was that he had a Gadsden Flag bumper sticker on his Truck. No other reason needed since Janet Napolitano issued her edicts on what an Extremist is.

We are no longer free in this country. Make no mistake. Within a year if not sooner, People will start to 'disappear' in the night. The courts won't be anymore full than they are now because Habeaus Corpus is going to go the way of Posse Comitatus in this country. There will be no warnings.
And to speak out will put you on the lists faster.
It won't only be what you say in public either. Just reading these pages will get someone paying attention to you.
As noted above, the DHS has compiled a long list of folks the government considers terrorists. The bill, if enacted, would allow the attorney general, a documented gun-grabber, to deny millions of Americans due process. “[Rep. King] would deny citizens their civil liberties based on no due process,” Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, tells WorldNetDaily.
http://www.thecitizen.com/~citizen0/node/36685 for the rest. It even mentions that if you voted against Obama you may be on the lists. Now if that isn't Chicago styled Politics(AKA Mob Tactics) I don't know what is.

The PTB want this set up so that things can be done quietly without undue attention. They don't want the sheep to get nervous. Anyone that fights back will have a news report similar to that Guy in Pennsylvania that killed the three cops. I have a thought on that but I am not going to touch upon that here.

War IS hell. War within a country by separate Ideologies is even worse. But there will be need for it. We aren't going to fix this in the courts or the Ballot box. Sorry Glen Beck. Its just not going to pan out how you are wishing for. THEY won't let it. Force is the only thing that's going to get rid of them.
