sumpin a lil difnt.

I have been posting about the land and the experience of building my gulch lately; very little about the politics and Elitist in the District of Criminals. I felt that there are some readers of this blog(you know who you are, the ones with the blocked IP's in Arlington and Roanoke) that could use some insight as to why I have forgone the political diatribe.

Before I start that though, I would like to cheer Barry and Michelle on with their current exploits. Keep it up guys, I am really liking seeing the 4th estate depicting you as the Aristocracy of the French Elite of the 1700's. Feel free to rape our country of as much value as you can on your endless vacations and globe trotting. Each penny you spend is adding another inch to the noose that will hang you and every other Power grabbing ass-wipe in DC.

Now, where was I? Ah, Why I 'Don't give a shit' any longer.

Mayberry will know where this comes from, as will others upon reading it. I will illiterate a bit though as it is really just an extension of my previous beliefs.

GOVERNMENT IS THE ENEMY OF FREEDOM.
As a freedom loving person of the species Homo Sapien, I have certain NEEDS. These tend to be common ground among others of the same species. These needs are fairly basic. Food, Shelter, Companionship. As an individual of a species(any species) My goals are to improve my position in life so that I can breed. To continue my line within the species. This is as simple as it gets. What a person in the H.S. species does to improve that position has been in transition since time out of mind. Originally in the Time of Og and Ugh, it was who could get more rabbits and wood. Now, its whom can gather the most wampum.(or so society would like you to believe.) The premise is still the same. Improve your position in life, attract a mate, and Breed. The better you are at that, the more likely your line in the species will come to expand, possibly even dominate. (if anyone would like to argue that; Explain why Sex sells so well in our society. Think about it.)

Keep that in mind for the rest of this.

Self defense is covered under the 2nd Amendment. It isn't directly called that since it was written in a time when EVERY SINGLE PERSON WITH A BRAIN understood the concept of a polite society.('step on my toes and I will kill you' kind of thing) See, there was a time when if your neighbor wanted your food, he could ask for it, trade for it or steal it.(Nothing has really changed has it?) You could give it to him, barter with him, or, if in the last case: Collect his hide in exchange. It wasn't until we started getting into groups larger than Family or Tribe that things started getting sticky. That's where Religion and Government started rearing their ugly heads.
Some will argue that Government is a necessity. Keep on believing that. The police were originally set up to keep on eye on the cave/hut/corral so that the others could go work the fields.(it may go even further back than that with the original 'fire-watch') The police weren't there to enforce the law; they were there "to serve and protect". (remember those words on the police cars? Ever see them anymore?)(if you do, what are they serving?(tickets and subpoena's) or protecting?(the elected elite))
Well, with the growth of Government, came taxes(with religion came tithes). In every instance of Massive Government Growth came larger and larger taxes. NO EXCEPTIONS. The monkeys wish to be taken care of and give willingly.

Facts are, Taxes are legalized theft, Theft is an assault, assault is an act of war, and since the early part of the last century, our Government has been at war with its own people. Billy Beck said it best with " At the bottom of every stack of paperwork in the Govt. is a loaded .45"
If that last paragraph labels me as "domestic terrorist", well, I have been called worse by better people than our elected.

I could go on and on about Government being the enemy. There are so many ways that it has encroached upon us and made life nearly impossible for those with hidden wings. I won't go there though. I have found my gulch, Extremely little red-tape to deal with to build(septic system only) and near people of similar mind about freedom.
Now if only I could convince my Dad that SMALL is better.(he so wants me to build a McMansion on that spot. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!)

After a week or two of reflection.

I am thinking about Andrew Stack. The guy that flew a plane into the IRS Offices in Austin.

I don't side with him but I have to look at some of what he wrote and think "I have felt that way before".

Will/would I fly a plane into a building to make my point. Not on your life. I fully intend to see the fruits of my labors, not sacrifice my life in the name of a cause that has yet to build into its full potential. But reading some commentary from others over I realized that maybe he had a point in his actions. To show this I quote.
“[Flying planes into IRS headquarters] may or may not be a good long-term strategy for [opposing abuses of power by the federal government], but it is hard to see why the use of deadly force is not morally justified, at least in principle, once you accept the premise that [the federal government, specifically including the IRS, is oppressing the people]. . .
H/T Reason.com I would like to reiterate that Deadly force is the last option that our government has but on the same note, IT IS THERE. As Beck has pointed out," at the bottom of every stack of paperwork in our government is a loaded .45". Whether its Tax revenues, Property resolutions, legislative BS, or even 'convincing' the American people "healthcare" is a priority(so is eating but I don't see them rushing to push a food bill to feed us all) Eventually there is someone to ENFORCE those decisions. If you choose to ignore that, they will find further ways to ENFORCEMENT. That, in my eyes, leads to Deadly force.(if in doubt of that, go ask Vicky Weaver her thoughts on it. )

I can easily see further acts of 'rebellion' against the FedGov from 'lone wolfs' that are at that tipping point. I also see that no matter how many regulations, enactments, proclamations, they put out, DHS is not going to catch a single one PRIOR to that act. Maybe in the act of it, but not prior. The ones that are 'terrorists' will leave trails. The Ones that are just sick of it all will just Act, without prior planning other than in their heads. And that fact, should leave all of those Federal Employees wide-eyed at night. Working for the problem leaves you as a target of opportunity to those that are desperate.

Key point here, Further oppression is not the answer. That will only dig the spurs in a little deeper. We are heading into some interesting times. I can't say how interesting but I think its going to be a whole lot more than the Great Depression was. I see massive political unrest added to the stew of poverty and taxation. The only thing that has held it at bay, in my opinion, is the welfare state of this country. Far too many on the Tit of the nanny state and comfortable there. Yet that tit is drying up quickly. That is going to leave many mad at those that do produce, and of course, the Government will quickly turn that horde against those that weren't 'going along'.(AIG Execs and ACORN bussing in 'protestors' sound familiar?)

Yup, Welcome to the future alright. We are about ready to cross into the Twilight Zone, only Rod Serling won't be running commentary this time.

Tomorrow begins a new Business year.

and the Escalation of whatever those in charge have in store for this country. New laws are taking effect, Agendas are going to be ramped up(in the unlikely event they lose the November elections. They being the Democrats) and The People that make up the sleeping giant of Conservatism are and have been making plans for more "Tea Parties" and Assemblies throughout the year, to voice complaints to an Administration that has proven it isn't listening to us.

I Link to an article I read this morning for a better voice on my feelings.(Caution, F-bombs and caustic language ahead.) This isn't one of my daily reads, that changed today. Words are razors when properly used. We need more of these if we hope to retain what is being robbed from us and our children. We have been far too nice for far too long. Granted it is from our wishing to be left alone to live our lives, Being nice works when those around you are also. It works against you when those around you are out to rob you blind.

To wit. I carry a handgun to defend myself from those that would rob me blind in the street. What do I carry to keep those that are robbing me blind from 1500 miles away? A vote? That has turned into the biggest joke, in a very not funny way.
I sat down with a calculator, pay stubs, sales receipts and a bottle of vodka recently. I hadn't posted about that until now because what I came up with floored me. By the time its all said and done, I have been paying over 60% in taxes to a government I DIDN'T VOTE FOR. I vote but not one of my candidates made the cut. Recently I read somewhere that our votes are really nothing more than us giving consent. I am starting to see the validity of that claim. The system is a stacked deck of cards and they have the dealers position. Makes you wonder when, if, and how, this can be corrected.

I fear for the future of this country. I have less fear for myself knowing I will survive or die by my skills. I have less control, a lot less, of the future of my Granddaughter. I would like to see her growing up knowing the freedoms I took for granted while growing up. I just don't see that as possible with our current paths.

All Right, my rant is over for now. I would highly recommend reading the article in the link. I would also recommend watching the markets over the next week to see how wild of a ride we are in for. I predict that you will see a growth that is illusory. It will look good on the surface until you realize how many investors are making bank by bailing on American companies and taking their money overseas. Short term it will be a positive, once gone though, we never get it back.

An Exercise in Futility.

Arguing with Liberals is like herding cats, counting sandgrains, or teaching pigs to sing. Frustrating is only the icing on that cake.

I am refering to a fisk that I did today on IrateNation. 'Liberal and Proud of it" went off the handle again last night and I spent half of the day while working thinking about it. When I came home I ripped into his post and while not scathing I did get a little hostile by my standards. I really shouldn't let stupidity get to me the way it does. Maybe its the fact that I see so many that are so willing to give their lives to the Nanny State without a whimper. So many potentially good people being swallowed up in this mess and not one TRIED to make it on their own principles.

I see the stories of Ayn Rand coming to life in front of my eyes. While we aren't so bad as George Orwell predicted I think that is more a matter of self-preventing prophecy. Tell it so horrible that no one wants to even toe that pathway. Still in many ways we aren't that far from that future if people continue ignoring the basic Premises of Freedom and Liberty. I expand upon these things as much as possible to as many will give me an ear(to the point of my daughter being sick of hearing it some days.)(though she has made poppa proud by quoting me on occasion :-D) To say the least, in a liberal town, I have few friends. No regrets about it as I don't need friends like that when the SHTF. Far too many are going to be clamoring for escape from the mess they voted for. Elections have consequences as they say. We are starting to see the cumulative effects of several elections coming to fruition.

Work seems to be coming back on line some, will know more here in the next day or two. If Not then I will be searching starting monday which means fewer posts unless I get a Support position where I will be online. Haven't been to many of those posting though, will see.

Addendum: Seems I am not the only one. http://www.thepriceofliberty.org/09/10/26/commentary.html

Flustered with ignorance.

The last couple of days have been interesting to me and frustrating as well. On Irate Nation there is a new member that is a liberal(I think that he is on the wrong forum but I am willing to debate subjects so no biggie). What is frustrating is the lack of resolve from Liberals. They harp so loudly about the abuses and 'fairness' but when someone confronts them with facts, they flee. Its exasperating to me.

That wasn't what this post is about though it definitely set the stage for what happened today. I was at work and our plumbers were on site working out details of a particular project that they are working on. Somehow (like the pistol butt sticking out of my waistband) the subject turned to rights, the law, and history(all rolled up into one the way I like them). Sadly though I found myself confronted by a racial bias (on their part, and I can't say its all wrong though they wouldn't hear my side of the coin) that just left me holding the bag as they walked away. Apparently they feel that for every law on the books there is one for the whites and one for the blacks. How do you approach this without looking like a fool or alienating the other party? By their logic they feel justified in the whole 'racial profiling' argument. And without actually having the time to use facts, I was left standing there trying get an answer to a question about WHY they think that way.

I know that IF they would take the time to learn more about how things really work instead of just assuming that what they have been taught is the gospel of truth, they would not be so quick to condemn. But then that's really the issue isn't it: Education? Or lack of proper education more like. At one point in my life I wanted to teach; circumstances dictated that I take a different route but even to this day I find I still want to teach. BUT, there isn't anyway I would be able to teach in our societal institutions with the discipline restrictions the way they are. I wouldn't tolerate the outbursts from today's kids the way the teachers have to now. Some young punk would get the paddle and I would be in jail for assault if some kid mouthed off to me the way I hear them mouthing off now. (In my days in school we would have taken home a sore ass only to get even more from the parents.)

This country is on the ropes with the way the liberals have made it with all of the little regulations and controls they have put in place. The Conservatives are equally at fault for falling asleep at the helm. There is so much that needs to be done to fix the issues at hand that I get flustered thinking about it. We need to fix the government by reducing its size and influence. We need to fix the economy by doing away with the Federal Reserve. We need to fix the education system by getting the Government out of the schools and allowing the teachers the flexibility to discipline again.(and make it so that the schools are in competition by showing RESULTS!) We need to be AWARE again and not let things slip so badly.

I see signs of hope. Saturday's showing in D.C. really gave me hope(probably why I opened up to the conversation today) but there is still A LOT of work to be done and even now things still look bleak. I worry that we are on the verge of a third revolution in this country and this time it will break us. The divide between the Conservatives and the Progressives is pretty substantial(I hate using monkeyspheres here but thats the only way to really show how rough things are.) I am not sure that we are going to be able to hold the center with the what I see coming. And there are many that other countries that would be more than willing to see us fall(and may help the process anyway they can.)

Time will tell.

I just worry what the future holds for my Kid and my Granbehbie. My time left is short enough that I don't fight for me but for them. I only hope that its not too late.

Then I turn around and see this and have to laugh. Most days I am envious of his bliss. But I think about it and am glad that I am not a 'pet' to someone or something.

Stepping back in Time

Just a little step back in time for me. Back when I lived in the Peoples Republic of Californiastan I was into this little band. Oingo Boingo. More for the Music dynamics then the content but now that I look back on it and hear it again. I realize that Danny Elfman was a hard core Conservative.
This song is what shows it.

There's nothing wrong with Capitalism
There's nothing wrong with free enterprise
Don't try to make me feel guilty
I'm so tired of hearing you cry

There's nothing wrong with making some profit
If you ask me I'll say it's just fine
There's nothing wrong with wanting to live nice
I'm so tired of hearing you whine
About the revolution
Bringin' down the rich
When was the last time you dug a ditch, baby!

If it ain't one thing
Then it's the other
Any cause that crosses your path
Your heart bleeds for anyone's brother
I've got to tell you you're a pain in the ass

You criticize with plenty of vigor
You rationalize everything that you do
With catchy phrases and heavy quotations
And everybody is crazy but you

You're just a middle class, socialist brat
From a suburban family and you never really had to work
And you tell me that we've got to get back
To the struggling masses (whoever they are)
You talk, talk, talk about suffering and pain
Your mouth is bigger than your entire brain
What the hell do you know about suffering and pain . . .

(Repeat first verse)

(Repeat chorus)

There's nothing wrong with Capitalism
There's nothing wrong with Capitalism
There's nothing wrong with Capitalism
There's nothing wrong with Capitalism

Just a thought on history and the future.

Quote:
What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly... It would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be hightly rated. Thomas Paine
How many are born into "Freedom" now-days actually understand the concept? Is it any surprise that the majority can be persuaded by a Charismatic Character claiming to be able to take care of "all of the problems"? How many understand that the troops aren't necessarily fighting for our freedom at this point but that of a country that cares not one wit for freedom? Though they aren't fighting for our freedom now, they may be soon enough. We may be right there along side of them. We may even have to make the first moves and hope that they see the dedication and join us.

There were three things that were considered 'unalienable' by the founding fathers. Jefferson had to compromise on the third to appease a group but those ORIGINAL three things were LIFE, LIBERTY, and PROPERTY. The compromise changed it to Pursuit of happiness(which is unalienable but is only definable on an individual basis and very circumstantial) Life is the easiest to define. Liberty can be subjective. Our current majority doesn't seem to realize that the 'Liberty' they have chosen is sitting on a very slippery slope to Fascism.

How willing are you to TRULY understand the cost of FREEDOM? Freedom is the costliest of all as it may take the other two unalienable rights to 'purchase' it. Are you ready to write that check?

Sounds of Summer in the 'Hood

Sitting on my porch smoking(I know BAD!) listening to the sounds of the world around me. I don't think anything bad was going on but I did hear the sound of a 12 gauge in the distance. 2 rounds about 4 seconds apart. Then up the road, someone popped off about 8 rounds of .22. Hard to mistake that crack. Most definitely not firecrackers.

No sirens so It was probably just fun shots going off. Its way to early to hear the 9's going off. Those usually wait until after the bars are closed and the 'bangers are feeling cocky enough to "defend" turf or settle some scores.

New Years Eve here was quite interesting. I actually called it an early night even though I didn't need to. I was awoken to the Gunfire. Not really surprised at all but the quantity of it was surprising to me. I even went on to the front porch and shot 3 rounds into the yard for giggles. THEN I heard it. Someone in the neighborhood had a Full AUTOMATIC. Probably AK since it sounded like 7.62X39 going off. I had my muffs on so I couldn't tell if there was that 'Clack' of an AK going off but I know Full Auto when I here it. It may have been a bump fire but I doubt it in this case. There are several military familys in the area and I know that during Kuwait we had quite a few that were successful in bringing back 'trophies' .

To bed with me though. I have a show tomorrow so Its going to be a long day/night for the grumpy cuss. LOL
